Description:
Transitioning into retirement with intact professional self-esteem requires not only a review of our financial portfolios but a thoughtful and informed assessment of our own aging processes. The goals of The Maturing Radiologist symposium are to assist medical professionals in optimizing their professional performance by anticipating potential limitations posed by vision loss, decreased short-term memory, diminished ability to multi-task, and coping with malpractice issues and risk avoidance in the later years of practice.

Participants will also learn about sound financial and estate planning, and when and how to enroll in Social Security, Medicare, and supplemental healthcare plans. Perhaps most importantly will be the opportunity for learning tips and tricks from others who have made the transition into retirement, be it due to illness, burnout, or a desire to pursue other interests.

The symposium content is an expansion of a seminar presented at the Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting in Chicago in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
