Description:
Sheldon M. Campbell, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Laboratory Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, and Director, Clinical Laboratories, VA Connecticut Healthcare Systems and William Schaffner, MD, NFID Medical Director and Professor of Preventive Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine will discuss advances in rapid influenza diagnostic testing and clinical approaches to influenza diagnostic testing.

At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

1.List the types of influenza diagnostic tests
2.Discuss how test features such as sensitivity, specificity, and speed of results impact the value of testing in clinical decision making
3.Describe appropriate specimen collection
4.Understand when and whom to test
