Description:
Human papillomaviruses (HPV) is a very common virus that infects nearly 80 million people—about one in four—in the US, causing more than 31,000 cases of cancer each year. Join NFID Medical Director, William Schaffner, MD and subject matter experts Joseph A. Bocchini, Jr., MD, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and Shannon Stokley, DrPH, Immunization Services Division of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), for an update on current HPV vaccine recommendations, vaccine safety and effectiveness, and strategies for improving immunization rates.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

-Discuss ACIP recommendations for the use of HPV vaccines and the rationale for universal immunization
-Understand data on HPV vaccine safety and effectiveness
-Describe strategies for increasing HPV vaccination rates among US adolescents and young adults

This webinar is supported by an unrestricted educational grant from Merck & Co., Inc. NFID policies restrict funders from controlling program content.
