Description:
National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual observance held each August to highlight the importance of vaccination across the lifespan. During NIAM 2018, the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) will host a weekly webinar at 12:00 PM ET on each Tuesday in August.

Despite high childhood immunization rates in the US, parents may have questions and concerns about vaccines. Join NFID Medical Director, William Schaffner, MD; Jenny Mullen, MPH, Health Communication Specialist, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and Nathan E. Boonstra, MD, General Pediatrician, Blank Children’s Hospital, Des Moines, for an update on new resources to help healthcare professionals engage with parents.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
-Describe key findings of CDC vaccine communication research with parents of children less than two years of age
-List three steps in effective vaccine conversations with parents
-Summarize common questions that parents ask about infant vaccines
-Identify immunization communication resources for healthcare professionals and parents

There is no fee to participate in this activity, but pre-registration is required.
