Description:
Through lectures and interactive discussion, this forum will provide an opportunity to discuss the unique opportunities and challenges for women physician leaders. Participants will hear from experts on a variety of leadership topics and learn the different career pathways in developing a leadership role. You will be able to apply your own strategic decision making skills, leadership competencies, and personal effectiveness in the management of teams, departments and organizations as you work with others to build commitment to goals and implement changes. You will also learn important negotiation skills for women physicians, including salary negotiation.

Join us for a networking dinner at 5:30. The forum will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Activity Objectives:

After participating in this activity, attendees will be able to:

Explain the processes, practices, and purposes of leadership and distinguish effective leadership qualities, styles, and skills

Describe the different approaches or career pathways in developing a leadership role

Identify common themes in the career paths of physicians and leaders who have integrated medicine and public service
