Description:
This course is designed to provide a practical update of contemporary diagnostic imaging from radiography to newer imaging techniques. Nuances in interpretation of traditional radiographs in common clinical situations (such as evaluating joint replacement) will be demonstrated. These should provide practical tools for the radiologist. In addition, attendees will develop an appreciation for the uses, limitations and interpretation of important newer imaging modalities including MRI, US, CT, dual energy CT and tomosynthesis, This year we have included sessions specifically addressing interventional procedures including venous and arterial procedures, ablations, and biopsies. Recent developments in cancer screening such as lung cancer screening and colonography and in standardized reporting systems such as LI-RADS will be reviewed.

In addition to lectures, multiple case presentation sessions are provided that show examples of “must know” and “advanced” cases. An audience response system will be utilized to facilitate participation. Self-assessment modules (SAMS) will be provided tailored to the course material.
